The 2011 developments with the St Kilda Facebook brouhaha has been, well, a series of non-developments.

If you've just drifted back from a post-Christmas getaway it could well be described as:

"Still pissed off and still angry girl who's still too young to be legally identified, but old enough continue to get herself a heap of non-exposed-exposure, persists in trying to embarrass the St Kilda Football Club, but this time with nothing new."

In return, the club says nothing-much as it learnt last year that jousting with an underage female with no reputation to lose is about as effective as trying to extinguish a blaze by peeing into the wind... without the relief of an empty bladder.

"We want the best outcome for the girl, but we also want the best outcome for our players."

Well, thank you, Captain Obvious!

The female inadvertently summed up the situation when she told Nova radio: "It was sort of a... I don't know I went into shock when it got that much publicity... it was like shit what do I do I haven't spoken to anyone about this?"

Where's Officer Barbrady from South Park when you need him: "Move along people, nothing to see here. Go home, you looky-loos."

MEANWHILE as the "17-year-old-St Kilda-Football-Club-girl" who can only be named as the "17-year-old-St Kilda-Football-Club-girl" was continuing her one-underage-woman-war against the Saints, the AFL Players Association with the timing of a Las Vegas comic, showed how they've embraced social media by sending out a proud tweet yesterday afternoon;

"Facebook among dangers promoted to draftees."

As Sam Newman might say, "Oh really..."

THE wider media continues to be frustrated by Brendan Fevola not being sacked after his New Year's Eve arrest where he was, in a nutshell, being a dickhead to himself.

As such the Herald Sun ran a poll asking: "Should the Brisbane Lions sack Brendon Fevola?"

As a parallel, last year their respected journalist Jon Anderson was so completely sozzled that he gently eased his car through the rear entrance of the local pizza shop, and subsequently blew a thoroughly irresponsible .139.

If you're wondering, they didn't run a poll on whether "Ando" should have been sacked, but they did take him off the "At the Bar" column.

"BUT Fev has priors" the masses scream.

Yes that's right he does.

After all, it was only four months ago that the doyen of AFL writers Mike Sheahan wrote: "The full details of Fevola's alleged misbehaviour in Brisbane on Saturday won't be known for some time". In spite of that, it was felt Fevola had run out of chances.

Sure, there's the inconvenient reality that once the full details of Fevola's alleged misbehavior was known, both the police and the AFL cleared him of any wrongdoing.

The key part to Sheahan's article, of course, was:

"There is, though, some prospect of relief for the Lions. If the AFL decides to deregister him for bringing the game into disrepute, which they seriously contemplated after his Brownlow Medal escapades last year, the Lions would be expected to sack him. They would then argue gross misconduct and say they were entitled to declare the contract null and void."

Only the very cynical would deduce that the journalist was briefed by someone desperate to NOT have to pay Fevola's stupidly high contract in the first place.

And, by the way, Fevola getting paid too much by a club incapable of knowing their star recruit's actual worth is not the player's fault.

JON PIERIK in The Age had also had enough come January 2, stating that the Brisbane Lions had to take a stand and let him go.

In a curious use of logic, he asked of a man "celebrating" New Year's Eve with a history of alcohol-related issues which severely escalated when away from his family, "Why couldn't Fevola have had a few quiet drinks with friends away from Brisbane's nightclub district?"

Dunno, but let's take a stab at it:

Probably because after those few quiet drinks, he would have demanded a few noisy drinks and then ended up not handling his grog like he usually doesn't and getting arrested after wrestling with the police?
