Winners and losers after one of the more enjoyable AFL trade weeks for many years.

WINNERS

BRISBANE: The Lions now boast a frightening forward line that includes Jonathan Brown, Brendan Fevola and Daniel Bradshaw, who in the end wasn't part of the Fevola deal. Michael Voss now has to work out how to fit them all into the side, although a move to backline might be on the cards for Bradshaw. Voss was like a frenzied Supercoach player this week snaring whichever player he could. By stocking up on experience - Fevola, Xavier Clarke, Amon Buchanan, Andrew Raines and Brent Staker - he is clearly trying to strike for another flag while Brown, Simon Black and Luke Power still have some good years left.

CARLTON: Ridding themselves of Fevola already improves the Blues. Brock McLean adds grunt to the midfield and will give Chris Judd a welcome chop out. Those in the know tell us that Lachie Henderson will give the Blues a dominant power forward for the next decade. We'll see.

WESTERN BULLDOGS: Brian Lake's re-signing got a little hairy there for a bit, but once he got over the line and Barry Hall was traded from the Swans, the picture is now complete for the Bulldogs. It's next year or bust.

SHANE MUMFORD: From the Geelong rookie list to a four-year, million dollar contract to play in the ruck for the Swans. Hope he does better than Henry Playfair did when crossing from the Cats.

ESSENDON: Improved its draft position and grabbed mark Williams, who could be good for 60 goals a season. The Dons will be hoping that he is over the knee problems that have wrecked two of his last three
