PAUL BASSAT is the founder and joint chief executive of Seek.com.au. The Melbourne golf nut is paying his first visit to Augusta and will blog daily on his experiences for BackPageLead.

It was Super Saturday at the Masters. Lee Westwood's near flawless 68 was completely overshadowed by Phil Mickelson's extraordinary back to back eagles on 13 and 14.

The roar that went around Augusta as Mickelson's 141 yard 9 iron landed near the hole and then dropped in was unbelievable. It was then followed by a series of similar roars around Augusta as Mickelson's score was posted on the leaderboards around the course.

It was hard not to get caught up by the emotion and even Lee Westwood seemed to be momentarily impacted as he made his only bogey of the day at 12 after glancing at the leaderboard at 11 and seeing Mickelson's second eagle posted. Mickelson was unlucky not to make a third eagle in a row at 15 when his third shot finished inches from the hole.

Tiger Woods finished strongly with four birdies in the last xix holes to be 4 shots back at 8 under. As we left the course at 7:15, Tiger Woods was one of the 2 players still practising. You can't criticise his work ethic. Tiger and KJ Choi are playing together for the fourth day in a row and the amount of time they are spending may be making Elin a little suspicious!

We had a fantastic opportunity to watch Tiger from the 14th hole onwards from close up.  As soon as Phil's back to back eagles were posted on the leaderboard, the crowd ditched Tiger faster than his sponsors ditched him last year. Tiger might not be used to being ignored but it didn't seem to bother him as he worked his way back into contention.

The conditions on the course were near perfect and pin placements on the whole were easier today than they were yesterday.  Mickelson's 67 was matched by Jerry Kelly. Fred Couples posted a 68 and is five shots from the lead at 7 under. At the other end of the field, Retief Goosen and Sergio Garcia both shot 4 over and Ernie Els shot 3 over. Ernie was the form player coming into the tournament and it has been a long couple of days for Els after sitting at 3 under late in the first round. Sergio had a tough day all round by winning the worst dressed award hands down. He was wearing a pair of ugly brown pants with adidas stripes down the side that looked more like a pair of tracky dacks along with a shirt that was green on the front and blue in the back. Despite his ugly attire, the girls didn't seem to mind and they were out in force watching the glamour grouping of the day comprising Sergio and Adam Scott.

We are staying in what we thought was a lovely hotel in the sleepy town of Aiken, about 20 miles from Augusta. Unfortunately our views on the hotel were drastically altered earlier today after chatting to a friendly couple from South Carolina. We were told that by the couple that our hotel was haunted. When we tried to make light of the claim, the wife gave us a withering look and assured us it wasn't a joke. Rooms are hard to get around Augusta at the moment so we are likely going to have to resort to a sleeping bag in the park.

It might be a restless sleep in the park tonight but tomorrow should be a great last round. My prediction for tomorrow is Westwood. Mickelson has played with absolute brilliance at times but Westwood has looked rock solid all week and should hopefully continue that form on Sunday. It will be a fantastic day.
