GLOBAL operation Darley churned out two slick winners on either side of the equator this past week, CAVEAT (two-year-old filly by Elusive Quality - Camarena, by Danehill) and LOCHINVER (three-year-old colt by Kingmambo - Campsie Fells, by Indian Ridge).

A daughter of 1999 Queensland Derby winner Camarena, Peter Snowden's filly Caveat came from off the pace to blitz a Seymour maiden field. She had plenty left in the bin.

Her full-sister could go a bit too, Darley-raced Camarena was a superb individual and landed the 2007 Group 1 AJC Sires' Produce Stakes.

French-trained youngster Lochinver also competes under the maroon and white banner and breezed away at Longchamp last Tuesday.

Prepared by Andre Fabre, the youngster has won two from four and his quick, snappy action carted him clear of a 1600m field in a twinkling.

Big NSW country galloper MILFORD SOUND (four-year-old gelding by Zabeel - Tennessee Midnight, by Danehill) is doing good things for Tamworth's Paul St. Vincent.

Last Friday, the big bay made it two successive wins on his home circuit, powering home with plenty on his 13 rivals.

Milford Sound kicked off his race career in the city but was sidelined for around a year. The enforced absence and St. Vincent's deft placement suggests the time is right for a return to the big smoke.

Westward, the ever-competitive Bob Peters clan was represented by a couple of exciting fillies in MYSTIC HOUR (three-year-old filly by Redoute's Choice - Fatal Attraction, by Zabeel) and MORNING MIST (three-year-old filly by Anabaa - Flaming Heart, by Salieri).

Mystic Hour made her debut at Northam last Monday and dashed up from a handy position to land a 1300m maiden.

From 2004 West Australian Oaks winner Fatal Attraction, she has been handled patiently by Graeme Ballantyne and we won't be seeing her line up at Northam in future!

And Jim Taylor prepared blueblood Morning Mist for a first start victory at Belmont Park on Wednesday.

Midfield until straightening, she quickened with flair, much like her mum, Flaming Heart, a dual Melbourne stakes-winner for the late George Hanlon.

(In my column of June 3, a horse I mentioned - FAENZA - will run this Sunday at the Sunshine Coast - Race 2, No.3. While PELLIZOTTI will go around at Doomben on Monday June 14 in Race 6, No.5. A third horse I wrote about, NO DISPUTE, ran last Sunday at Sale and finished second in Race 6. The week before that, on May 27, I mentioned DESERT CONTROL and he will run on Sunday at Swan Hill - Race 6, No.2. Two other horses highlighted in that column - JAN VERMEER and LUCKY TOUCH - ran during the week, Jan Vermeer at Epsom Downs and Lucky Touch at Kembla Grange, and both finished fourth.)
