It's the biggest race day of the year for Warwick Farm on Saturday and what a race is in prospect with the Warwick Stakes.
The return of Group One winners, Theseo and Metal Bender, are an expected highlight. However, I spoke with Nash Rawiller this week and, while he rides Theseo on Saturday, he was giving Descarado a huge push.
Nash rode the former Kiwi galloper on Tuesday morning and said Descarado quickened up beautifully in the straight. In-form jockey, Glyn Schofield, has the mount on Descarado.
Denise Martin from Star Thoroughbreds reports Theseo has improved greatly in the past fortnight but, being a slightly older horse, he might need a run to get going into the Spring.

Another Warwick Stakes contender, Sniper's Bullet, is coming off a great first-up run behind Love Conquers All.
Trainer Tracy Bartley said Sniper's Bullet had tightened up in condition. Earlier this week, Sniper's Bullet showed he's right on his game. When he spotted a rabbit, he threw Bartley off and, according to the trainer, "let everybody know he was in charge".

At Moonee Valley on Saturday, leading jockey Craig Williams jumps aboard promising three-year-old Rekindled Interest in the McKenzie Stakes.
The horse only has raced once but it was an impressive win at Bendigo. Trainer Jim Conlan says Rekindled Interest seemed to handle the rain affected track at the Valley on Tuesday when he produced a strong gallop with stable-mate Regally Blonde.
Conlan says Rekindled Interest goes into Saturday's 1200-metre race without an official trial but believes he's a nice horse in the making.

Saturday's meeting at Ellerslie in New Zealand will have a heavy track but one horse worth watching is Queensland Oaks winner, My Keepsake.
Trainer Andrew Scott says it's not ideal to resume on a heavy track but he's keen to boost the fitness of My Keepsake before the Spring Classic, formerly the Kelt Capital, in October.
And don't be tricked by the name in the form guides; the filly won the Queensland Oaks as Miss Keepsake but reverts to her New Zealand name of My Keepsake.

In Harness Racing, Tabcorp Park at Melton will come alive to nine Group One races on Sunday afternoon. The Breeders Crown series has become arguably Australasia's prominent harness series, surpassing the Inter Dominion. More than $1.5-million prize money will be won by owners.
The sixth race on Sunday will be the Grand Final of the two-year-old colt and geldings and while Our Major Mark and Royal Verdict will be the favourites, don't rule out Devilish Smile. The youngster is better suited off the pace rather than leading like he did last week in the semi.
The three-year-old colts and geldings final has Lanercost as the favourite but Franco Jamar, drawn gate 1, is capable of a withering finish in the sprint lane.
Harness Racing Victoria has nurtured this day into one of the great days of harness racing and deserves a huge crowd.
(SKY RACING 2 will have complete coverage on Sunday with Greg Hayes, Adam Hamilton and Bill Hutchison. All races will be telecast on Sky 1 and 2. And on Friday, there will be an early Breeders Crown preview from 1pm on SKY RACING 2.)
