There is no doubt most attention on Saturday will be on the Group One Coolmore Lightning Stakes at Flemington but there's plenty of other races to back a winner in as well.
Personally I'm looking forward to the return of Exploitable Doubt in the second race at Rosehill.
Scone trainer Rod Northam was planning to return this promising galloper a fortnight ago but he decided against it when New South Wales was hit by a barrage of hot weather. Exploitable Doubt has won three of his four starts and has normally shown pace to either lead or sit on the pace but Northam is hoping a change of racing tactics will provide a successful outcome.
Northam and jockey Robert Thompson plan to ride the colt off the pace, and have practiced relaxing the horse in their morning trackwork.

The third race at Rosehill will see the return of Atomic Force and while the horse has had a series of trainers, he appears to be racing very consistently under Newcastle trainer Darren Smith.
The five-year-old fought on strongly in the Magic Millions Sprint on the Gold Coast last month and after a quick freshen up, Atomic Force is ready to launch into the Autumn.
Smith said Atomic Force was given an easy trial at home last week and should be able to use barrier two to advantage on Saturday. Smith says Atomic Force has relished the lighter preparation and should go pretty close on Saturday.

Now to Flemington, where the third race will see a number of talented horses resuming.
The last time we saw Avienus was a fantastic sixth in the Cox Plate, but the consistent mare will return to racing in a 1200 metre race after a lengthy break. Trainer Mark Webb told me Avienus trialled against a number of true sprinters at Cranbourne last week, and jockey Craig Williams was delighted with the effort.
Webb admitted it's going to be tough for Avienus to win first-up at the distance, but the five-year-old mare should run on strong, especially if there's good genuine pace throughout the race.
Also returning in the same race is Belgietto for Moe trainer Peter Gelagotis. A winner in his last three starts, Belgietto warmed up for his return with a jump out at Sale on Monday and is said to have relaxed beautifully. Like Avienus, Gelagotis is hoping Belgietto can steam home late on Saturday, with the plan to target some stakes races this Autumn preparation.

Prominent owner, Lloyd Williams says Studley Park will have to produce a career best run on Saturday to beat its rivals in the last race at Flemington.
Studley Park when saluting the judges at Sandown early this month, but Williams and his trainer Robert Hickmott have put the horse in a far superior race this time. Williams has been very happy with his horse's progress, and while he's up in grade, Craig Williams is on board, and at a lower weight.

And finally, Sydney trainer David Payne is hoping apprentice Josh Adams can ride three-year-old, Sea Lord a bit quieter than normal on Saturday at Rosehill. Payne is hoping for a strong and competitive run that would push Sea Lord into the Australian Guineas at Flemington on March 5th.
