John Sadler's dazzling Geelong winner FASTER STRONGER (four-year-old gelding by Stravinsky - Dane Dancer, by Danehill) is now living up to his name.

Tremendously impressive scoring on March 26, the big bay shifted gears soon after straightening to make light of 59kg and come from a midfield position.

Raced by a syndicate including Troy Corstens and Sir Patrick Hogan the bay is ready-made metro material.

Also jumping straight out at you in Victoria this past week was EL SPARK (three-year-old filly by Elvstroem - Dual Spark, by Spartacus) from the Mick Kent yard.

In the usual Kent style, this miss performed perfectly on the fresh side when she returned from a 37-day layoff to score at Cranbourne last Sunday.

That made it two wins from her past three outings and her acceleration will also carry her into city racing as the career unfolds - as was the case with her mum, a four-time metropolitan winner.

The Kim Waugh-trained NO COMMENT (three-year-old filly by Danzero - Won't Tell, by Rory's Jester) is a stylish miss, now coming into her own with maturity.

Back from a six-month holiday, No Comment had trialled with flair at Gosford yet she eased in the betting for an 1100m maiden. That drift proved ill-founded as the robust youngster comfortably trounced 12 rivals by four lengths pulling up.

Originally in the Team Hawkes camp, No Comment was a bit stiff first time out - she was beaten a nose by Starspangledbanner at the Moonee Valley Cox Plate meeting in October, 2008.

BLUE LOTUS (two-year-old filly by Redoute's Choice - Our Egyptian Raine, by Desert Sun) was backed at Warwick Farm last Tuesday upon debut, but let favourite backers down.

She's a gorgeous sort from the Gai Waterhouse operation and had shaped up with flair in two barrier trials.

Alas, the heavy conditions worked against her and she was left toiling in second spot. Expect that to change next time out.

At the same meeting, PARABLES (two-year-old filly by Lonhro - Fairytales, by Night Shift) took the inside lane to race away at her second race start.

Too slick over 1200m, the youngster relished the conditions but her previous run on top of the ground at Hawkesbury suggested she's not purely a mudlark.

(Of the horses I mentioned in last week's Five to Follow column, three are running over the coming week: KING OF MOUNTAINS at Caulfield on Saturday in Race 3 (No.6). SUMMER DASH  will also make an appearance on Saturday at Kembla Grange in R5 (No. 5). INABLITZ ran yesterday at Moonee Valley in R6, while JEREZANA and CLASSIC GUITAR are yet to run.)
