HAVE you ever heard of the Anti-Defamation League?

It's a Jewish organisation that keeps tabs on anti-semitism. If you write something that can be in any way considered anti-semitic - not just in a newspaper or a magazine but even in an email - they'll give you a right wrap over the knuckles straight away.

A few years ago I forwarded a joke by email which upset them and I was made to feel like a Holocaust denier.

Now, I don't want to get another email from them so I want say right off the top that I would never make light of the horrors that have been visited upon the Jewish people down by the ages. It's just that this organisation is the best example I can think of for the point I am trying to make here - so please take this column item in the spirit it is intended.

I think it is time to form an Anti-DeSteelerisation League.

As the grand final gets closer, there are Steeler Deniers everywhere. People who say "St George" or "first premiership since 1979" or - my personal current hate - "ALL SYDNEY GRAND FINAL" Grrrrr.

The ADL will expose these people who pretend 15 years of proud scarlet history never existed and put them on a register of Steeler Deniers. It will sent them terse emails and letters and in extreme circumstances, poor bright scarlet paint over their cars.

The first Steeler Denier inductees are Paul Kent (St George, St George, St George - shame, shame, shame), Ken Sutcliffe (It's an all NSW grand final NOT all Sydney) and Des Hasler (has never said "St George Illawarra" in his life).

On the other hand, we also have a roll of honour for people who constantly remind the public that St George Illawarra are a joint venture like Wests Tigers. Peter Sterling, step on down. You were once touted as a possible Steelers coach and you've not forgotten us.

And Darren Lockyer - always says "Dragons" and rarely "St George". Put your nominations below.

**************

GREAT to see the NRL re-open the "f****** wog" investigation when the match review panel failed to take it any further.

As I said yesterday, it's a sorry affair and sweeping it under the carpet discredits our game. The reader who said "Dean Young has just insulted half his club's fans" wins the KB can.

Now we've just got to find it behind the spam in Ted Bulpitt's Kelvinator.
