Our long national nightmare - otherwise known as the Commonwealth Games - has finally ended and One HD can get back to its Monday morning NFL commitment. The network returns with a bang, showing an early matchup between two very good teams, the Patriots and the Ravens, and that's followed by a fascinating game between two underachievers, the Brett Favre-led Vikings and Tony Romo's Cowboys. Fox brings us one early game, while ESPN weighs in with its usual two.

Monday, 4 am, Fox Sports

Atlanta Falcons (4-1) @ Philadelphia Eagles (3-2)

TAB Sportsbet line: Philadelphia -2.5

Reason to watch: If injured Michael Vick were starting for the Eagles, then his return to Atlanta - his former home - would be the big storyline. But Vick's sore ribs means Kevin Kolb gets a second straight start, with the chance to show head coach Andy Reid that he is worthy of being the number one quarterback. The Falcons have quietly asserted themselves in the NFC South, with QB Matt Ryan and bruising running back Michael Turner leading the way.

Monday, 4 am, One HD

Baltimore Ravens (4-1) @ New England Patriots (3-1)

TAB Sportsbet line: New England -3.5

Reason to watch: New England comes off the bye week without Randy Moss, whom they traded to Minnesota. Still, Tom Brady has some weapons at his disposal, including former Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch, who returned to his old club in a trade from Seattle. The Ravens are looking superb, with a ferocious defense - led by Ray Lewis and Haloti Ngata - and an offense that can put points on the board when they don't make mistakes.

Monday, 7:15 am, One HD

Dallas Cowboys (1-3) @ Minnesota Vikings (1-3)

TAB Sportsbet line: [no line, but head to head is Minnesota $1.68, Dallas $2.10]

Reason to watch: Both of these teams were pre-season picks to challenge for the NFC title, and after this game, one of them will be close to be being eliminated from playoff contention. The two quarterbacks, Minnesota's Brett Favre (if he plays) and Dallas' Tony Romo have been criticised for their inconsistent play. The key here will be which defense can shut down the others' offense. If Favre plays, this could be a shootout.

Monday, 11:20 am, ESPN and One HD

Indianapolis Colts (3-2) @ Washington Redskins (3-2)

TAB Sportsbet line: Washington +2.5

Reason to watch: When the Colts played in Baltimore, this was one of the NFL's fiercest rivalries. Now it's simply an important game for both teams. Indianapolis beat Kansas City last week, but they only scored one touchdown and that was on the ground. The vaunted passing attack led by Peyton Manning has been slow out of the blocks. The Redskins, with new head coach Mike Shanahan and new QB Donovan McNabb, have been a pleasant surprise and have won a couple of close games.

Tuesday, 11:30 am, ESPN

Tennessee Titans (3-2) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2)

TAB Sportsbet line: Jacksonville +2.5

Reason to watch: Something's got to give in a division where all the teams are 3-2. The NFC South was meant to be the domain of the Colts and Texans, but these two squads have been competitive. The Titans have the NFL's best running back, Chris Johnson, as well as one of it's most unpredictable quarterbacks in Vince Young. The Jaguars, in what could be head coach Jack Del Rio's final season, have won two in a row.
