Well, Super Bowl XLV is in the books, with the Green Bay Packers winning their fourth title and handing the Steelers only their second loss in the showpiece game of American football.

Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers was the big winner. He not only won the MVP award, he showed why the Green Bay brass gave him the keys to the car and told Brett Favre to take a hike.

The game itself was exciting, if a bit sloppy at times, while the halftime entertainment was a poor as its been in a long time. Here's a quick Pass/Fail from Monday's game:

Pass - Green Bay General Manager Ted Thompson

He's the guy who drafted Rodgers and decided that he was the quarterback of the future.

Fail - Ben Roethlisberger

Big Ben wasn't that bad, and he proved again what a tough guy he is on the football field. But he lost his chance at a third Super Bowl ring, something that would have put him in elite company, with Troy Aikman and Tom Brady.

Fail - Black Eyed Peas

It was always going to be a risky proposition for such a heavily-produced group to deliver the goods live. A poor mix doomed most of their efforts, although Slash and Usher provided some relief. And it did look good.

Fail - Christina Aguilera

Her rendition of the national anthem wasn't nearly as overly-dramatic as I thought it would be, but when you get the words wrong, you can't get a pass. Even with grade inflation.

Pass - Fans of both teams

The US media remarked on the sheer number of team jerseys in the crowd. The Cheesheads and Terrible Towels were out in force and it sounded like a real football game, rather than the usual corporate crowd that only gets excited in the fourth quarter. These fans were into it from the very start. That's what you get with two of the NFL's best fanbases.

Fail - Wide receivers in general

Watching the game in the land of the overhead mark, I was embarrassed by the sheer number of drops by the wide receivers. Jordy Nelson, who otherwise had a great game, dropped two, while James Jones let a potential touchdown slip through his hands and Brett Swain dropped a sure first down catch.

Pass - Former Cal Bears

Rodgers of course gets the kudos, but how about the game by Green Bay linebacker and former Golden Bear Desmond Bishop? He had ten tackles, six of those solo and three of them for a loss.

Fail - Pittsburgh's clock management

Needlessly burning two timeouts in the second half severely restricted the Steelers on their final drive. And what was with the 52 yard field goal attempt that gave the Packers' offense the field position it so badly needed?

Pass - Mike Tomlin

Maybe he didn't coach the best game, but Tomlin gets a big pass for his classy, honest postgame assessment.

Fail - Fox pregame show

I hope those critical of myself, Andy Maher and Dave Hughes enjoyed that mish-mash of a pregame. Bill O'Reilly interviewing President Obama? The panel interacting with something called the "E Trade Baby?" Terry Bradshaw pretending to like Roethlisberger? It was a shmozzle at best and even when they brought true NFL royalty onto the set - Packer legend Bart Starr - he could barely get a word in.

Pass - Joe Buck

Buck continues to set the standard for broadcasters. Yes he's a little corny, but he's not over-the-top a la Kevin Harlan or as smarmy as Al Michaels. He's solid and inoffensive, and doesn't rely on too many catchphrases.

Fail - Jerry Jones and Cowboys' Stadium

The billionaire Cowboys' owner was obsessed with breaking a decades-old Super Bowl attendance record, so he had portable seating installed throughout his mammoth stadium. Trouble is, the fire marshal deemed some of those seats unsafe, so it was bye bye record, and bye bye Super Bowl tickets for some unlucky fans.
