Feature game: LSU (8-0) @ Alabama (8-0), Sunday Nov 6, 11:07 am, ESPN.

They like to say there are two sports in the South: football and spring football. Actually there is NASCAR, which Southern folk are pretty passionate about, but by and large it's football country. And we're not talking about the Craig Foster variety. This is old fashioned, lace ‘em up and start hittin' football.

This weekend's game between #1 LSU and #2 Alabama is not only a matchup of two undefeated teams, it's a showpiece event for Southern football. These are two great programs, with high-profile coaches and rosters packed with remarkable talent.

Alabama has reportedly processed more than 600 media credentials, nearly triple the normal number, and the crowd at Bryant-Denny Stadium will be in excess of 101,000.

Alabama has the best defense in college football, allowing less than seven points per game. The Crimson Tide offense is led by star running back Trent Richardson, who has scored 17 touchdowns. LSU counters with a defense that is ranked third nationally, and an offense that, while unpredictable, can make some big plays.

If that's not enough, there are two Australians who will play a big part in the game. Brisbane's Jesse Williams plays defensive end for Alabama, while Melbourne's Brad Wing handles the punting chores for LSU.

The stakes are incredibly high, with the winner having the inside track to the BCS national championship game. In all probability, this will be an intense, hard-hitting, low scoring football game. And it should be incredibly entertaining.

Week Ten TV Guide - Other games to watch

Saturday Nov 5, midday, ESPN, USC (6-2) @ Colorado (1-8)

Why watch: To see if Colorado can stop a six-game losing streak. It's been a rude welcome to the Pac 12 for the Buffaloes, who have yet to win a league game. USC is a much better team, and can put points on the board, but they'll have to bounce back from a heartbreaking triple overtime loss to Stanford.

Sunday Nov 6, 3 am, ESPN 2, Michigan (6-1) @ Iowa (5-3)

Why watch: Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson is one of the most exciting players in the country. He accounts for more than 300 yards of total offense per game, but he's a far better runner than passer. Iowa is coming off a shocking 22-21 loss to Minnesota and will be hoping their home crowd will get them back on track.

Sunday Nov 6, 6:30 am ESPN 2, Texas A&M (5-3) @ Oklahoma (7-1)

Why watch: Despite their upset loss to Texas Tech, Oklahoma remains one of the country's top teams. Quarterback Landry Jones has an incredible array of receivers who made some huge plays in last week's 58-17 rout of previously unbeaten Kansas State. Texas A&M lost in overtime to Missouri last week, surrendering an 11-point halftime lead.
