Rampant Argentina blitz South Korea

The least heralded member of Argentina's strike force scored the first hat-trick of the 2010 World Cup today. Gonzalo HiguaÃn, born in France 22 years ago, once thought seriously of opting to play for the country of his birth. In the end, however, he decided to stick with the land of his father and in Argentina's second match of the tournament, against a disappointing South Korea, he became the first representative of the Albiceleste to score three goals in a single match in the finals of the competition since Gabriel Batistuta's similar success against Jamaica in a group match in the Parc des Princes in 1998.
