They say the world over that when it comes to a Derby you can throw the formguide out the window. This is music to the ears of Melbourne Heart fans and players alike as they are coming off the worst performance of the season against a 10-man Newcastle Jets.

It must be mentioned that the week prior to the Heart's 2-1 win over the Victory in the inaugural Melbourne Derby they had put in an insipid performance against the Roar. So the Heart will be hoping that history repeats this time around, but there have been a number of signs that perhaps a draw should be the target.

The Melbourne Heart haven't scored for five matches, but it's not through lack of trying. On Wednesday night against the Jets the shot count was 27 to 2, to go along with the 0-2 score line. With Alex Terra and Adrian Zahra lacking confidence, and the former struggling with injury, the scoring pressure has been heaped on to Gerald Sibon and John Aloisi.

And while Aloisi has struggled with fitness and form for much of the season, Sibon has been deployed in more of a playmaker role between midfield and the lone striker. So we, as fans, are left asking where on earth the goals are going to come from!

Hopefully our fears will be put to rest on Saturday night with a flurry of goals, but I think the spectators will have to settle for a low-scoring game where even a single goal might be enough to take the three points.

The topic of expansion has reared its head once again this week, with the A-League failing to secure the long-term future of the North Queensland Fury whilst also keeping the fledgling Sydney Rovers club in limbo. Potential future locations for expansion have been mentioned, with two glaring omissions. Whilst Wollongong, Canberra and alike continue to be thrown up as options, Geelong and, in particular, Tasmania continue to be ignored.

Tassie has been continually overlooked when it comes to sporting franchises, with the AFL choosing to ignore their bid for a team in preference to attempting to crack the Western Sydney market. Any franchise that eventually chooses to go to Tasmania will have a guaranteed success, as the Tasmanian people are sports mad and are crying out for a team of their own. Hopefully the A-League will push into this market sooner rather than later and reap the benefits.
