TOUR leader Matt Goss and sprint sensation Mark Cavendish were victims of a high-speed crash during a chaotic second stage of the Tour Down Under.
Chaos reigned during the stage into the Murray River town of Mannum that saw Australian veteran Robbie McEwen dodge three separate spills to grab the ochre jersey.
Some of the biggest names in world cycling hit the deck in a string of accidents in the final 4km of the road stage, which saw Tasmanian Bernie Sulzberger taken to hospital with a suspected broken collarbone and McEwen calling for courses to be cleaned up.
