Cricket Australia crackdown on Warner, Geeves

TWENTY20 sensation David Warner and injured Tasmanian fast bowler Brett Geeves have been threatened with a charge of bringing the game into disrepute if they repeat a childish Twitter spat, which included allegations of racial vilification.

Cricket Australia has reprimanded the pair and warned them that any further outbursts will not be tolerated.

Warner levelled the alleged racial vilification claim against Geeves during an increasingly bitter Twitter exchange following Tuesday's Twenty20 Big Bash preliminary final between NSW and Tasmania in Hobart. NSW won by nine wickets with Warner starring, hitting an unbeaten 70 from 49 balls that included eight fours and three sixes, including one off Test paceman Ben Hilfenhaus which disappeared out of Bellerive Oval.
