Bring world champs to AustraliaAUSTRALIA has been urged to bid for the world athletics championships in 2019 by the sport's kingmaking head, IAAF president Lamine Diack, who was in Melbourne yesterday.
Melbourne will also push to become one of a handful of cities hosting prestigious Diamond League events once Athletics Australia's new Albert Park home is completed in coming months in a bid to attract the cream of the world's athletes here annually.
