WITH its 25-game unbeaten streak, a record in Australian soccer, it's not surprising that A-League Premier Brisbane Roar has dominated the team of the year voting by its A-League playing peers.
It's also no shock that Ange Postecoglou, the man who, in less than 18 months, has taken the Brisbane club from underachievers to red-hot favourite for this year's championship, should be the overwhelming choice as coach of the season.
The Professional Footballers Association' union poll nominated six Roar players for the starting XI and gave Brisbane's midfielder Matt McKay the captain's armband. It is a fitting reward for McKay, who has been with the Roar since its inception and made his international breakthrough with the Socceroos at the recent Asian Cup in Qatar.
