BRENDAN Fevola's multi-million dollar AFL contract has been terminated by the Brisbane Lions, effective immediately.
Senior coach Michael Voss and football operations manager Dean Warren informed Fevola he was no longer wanted by the club during talks tonight about 8.45pm Melbourne time.The 30 -year-old confirmed his sacking to the Herald Sun and is expected to return to Melbourne as soon as possible to work out his future.
His mood was philosophical with the extent of the news yet to fully sink in. Fevola has indicated he would travel to the United States if the Lions cut him adrift. He wants to investigate the option of becoming a punter with an NFL team.
