MELBOURNE Rebels yesterday fined English import Danny Cipriani for his indiscretion of stealing a bottle of vodka from behind a nightclub bar during a night out after the Super Rugby season opener last month.
Cipriani will have to pay one match payment - believed to be about $2500 - and faces being stood down if he attracts trouble again.
But, importantly for the Rebels on-field ambitions, the star of last week's one-point win over the Brumbies, will be free to play in the team's first away game, Saturday's clash with the Chiefs in New Zealand.
