MANLY officials were last night bunkered down considering their latest response to the NRL after league boss David Gallop yesterday delayed taking any action against Benji Marshall until the Wests Tigers superstar answers an assault charge in court.
Many at the Sea Eagles, including coach Des Hasler, are believed to be angry that Marshall has escaped a suspension when Manly star Brett Stewart, also the face of the game, was stood down by the NRL after being accused of sexual assault in 2009.
Marshall allegedly punched a man in the face at a McDonald's restaurant near The Rocks in Sydney in the early hours of Saturday.
