INDIA, England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand. Each has been an ODI opponent of Australia over the past year and each has batsmen capable of consistently clearing the boundary. None, however, were able to do so to the extent Kenya did on Sunday night in Bengaluru.
The fact Australia was plundered for seven sixes by the worst-performed team in the tournament - the most sixes Australia had conceded in its past 22 matches - did not reflect well on the bowling attack, the basis on which Australia is chasing a fourth consecutive World Cup victory. But for a tournament as elongated as this one it is foolish to place too much emphasis on a single underwhelming performance.
