DANIEL Ricciardo can barely contain his excitement as the days count down to the Australian Grand Prix - and his debut as Australia's newest Formula One star.
The Perth-born youngster will hit the track for Toro Rosso on Friday morning, going head-to-head with everyone from Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso to Mark Webber.
He is being groomed as the Red Bull reserve team's test and development driver in 2011, which means he will get track time at every grand prix during the opening practice on Friday morning.
