To me, the Saints are good things. Yes, they've lost Lenny Hayes and have been beaten by Essendon the last three times they've met (when the Bombers started at odds of $6 or more).
But they've played off in the last two grand finals while, to my way of thinking, the Bombers are no better than a mid-table team. Now the betting in this game is virtually 50-50! People have got such short memories.
Had the cards fallen St Kilda's way this season, they could so easily have had two wins, rather than a loss and a draw. (Geelong, conversely, could just as easily have had two defeats rather than two wins.)
