It was as if someone had brought damp firecrackers to a Fourth of July celebration. The explosion between Manny Pacquiao, the pound-for-pound king, and Shane Mosley never materialized. There were a few pops, as each man suffered a knockdown.
But in the end the sold-out crowd of 16,412 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and a Showtime PPV audience had to settle for Pacquiao winning a lopsided 12-round unanimous decision Saturday night.
"I thought Shane did a great job. He had some speed. He's a great fighter," Pacquiao said.
Judge Glenn Trowbridge scored it 119-108, judge Dave Moretti scored it 120-108 and judge Duane Ford scored it 120-107. The Daily News scored it 119-108 for Pacquiao.
