Carey: I'm tipping Eagles over Pies

Wayne Carey watched, amazed, as West Coast completely tore to shreds the Western Bulldogs last Sunday and has now been won over by John Worsfold's side, saying it barely has a weakness.

The dual premiership captain said he doubted whether anyone would beat the Eagles at Patersons Stadium in Perth this year - in fact, they had such momentum and confidence at the moment they were a good chance to knock off premiers Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday.

''I think we've all underestimated how good their kids are - Darling, Shuey and Kennedy up forward, Carey said in his weekly BackPageLead Vidcast. ''And they're given good support by a midfield of Cox, Kerr, Priddis and Embley - Glass is holding the backline together - they seems to have got all areas of the ground covered. They're looking unbelievable.''

Carey acknowledged that not all games would be the walk in the park that last Sunday's was, against the Bulldogs, but said the 2010 wooden spooners were building an irresistible momentum.

''They looked as good as anyone I've seen this season,'' he said. ''I'd be backing West Coast to beat Collingwood if the match was at Patersons Stadium on Sunday. But you know what, I think I'll still back them to win at the MCG - they're travelling that well.''

In his Vidcast, Carey also touched on Rodney Eade's woes, mobile phone bans, players drinking beer in the grandstand before a game, and Gazza's first match against his old Geelong teammates this weekend.
