The unorthodox spin bowler claimed 6-16 off his four overs - the first six-wicket haul in international T20 - as Australia made 9-149 to fall just short of a victory target of 158 and lose the two-match T20 series 2-0 to the hosts.
Australia had been cruising to their victory target after John Hastings put together his own noteworthy bowling spell of 3-14 off four overs to restrict Sri Lanka to 8-157 off their 20 overs, despite a battling 86 by Mahela Jayawardene.
Opener Shane Watson then put Australia on their way with an astonishing 57 off just 24 balls to have the tourists 0-70 inside six overs.
