Eade made a presentation to the Bulldogs board last Thursday and it reached a decision last night.
"I'm not shattered or angry but I'm certainly disappointed, I'm bitterly disappointed, I think I've got a lot to offer," he said at a press conference this morning, where he appeared beside Dogs president David Smorgon and CEO Simon Garlick.
Eade insisted he had not given any thought to vacant coaching positions at Melbourne or Adelaide, and said it was up to other clubs to seek him out if they were interested rather than "go knocking on doors".
