So here's what we established at the Wallabies press conference yesterday. . . no one did nuthin' to no one, nowhere.
This was a huge relief to all concerned - Wallabies, coaches, media officers and, most importantly of all, rugby journalists who, faced with the choice of having to cover a disastrous World Cup or a triumphant one, would choose the happy alternative every time. For one thing, our stories get a much better run when the Wallabies win.
So when James O'Connor, Quade Cooper and Kurtley Beale all bravely confronted the media rogues who had all been chasing the same story for the past week - that two of them had assaulted the third in Paris last November - and reassured them, hand on heart, that it was a total beat-up . . . sorry, wrong choice of words . . . a total fallacy, it was as though a dark cloud had suddenly lifted.
