The AFL launched the investigation yesterday into a football official's alleged $200 bet on a game played last weekend. It is not known whether the Essendon-Port Adelaide fixture was the game in question.
The bet is believed to have involved the scores at the respective intervals in the game. The Bombers released a statement this afternoon confirming Wallis "is assisting the AFL's investigation into allegations relating to betting on AFL football".
"Wallis met with the AFL and club officials this morning and is fully co-operating with their investigation," the club said.
