There are those who have belittled International Rules from the outset; I'm not one. My negativity is born of the ever-increasing difficulty in attracting the better players to the series and, by extension, genuine public interest.
Ask yourself these questions - where will the two Tests be played? Name six members of the 24-man squad? What's the cost of tickets? This competition can survive only if it's seen to be meaningful, if it matters to the players. That doesn't seem to be the case.
