MATTHEW Wade announced himself to the Australian public by blasting a 72 off 43 balls to help Australia to a 31-run win in the opening Twenty20 against India.
Most of the record 59,659 crowd who attended the first cricket international at ANZ Stadium had never seen the Victorian keeper.
But Wade made sure his name would not be forgotten as he opened the innings in stunning fashion, blasting three sixes and five fours.
