AFL media money in doubtTHE AFL'S rivers of broadcasting rights gold could slow to a trickle after a Federal Court decision yesterday cleared the way for Optus to continue to show football matches on a two-minute delay from the exclusive rights holder to their subscribers.
The vast amount of broadcast rights money that has underpinned the financial strength of not only the AFL but the NRL and other sports has been jeopardised by the decision that means sports can no longer have certainty in offering exclusive content to broadcasters.
